Scriptly ("Discord bot", "Scriptly", “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. If you have any questions or concerns about our notice, or our practices with regards to your personal information, please contact us in our support server listed at the bottom of the page.
SCRIPTLY NEVER SAVES TRANSCRIPTION AUDIO OF USERS ON ITS SERVERS FOR ANY GIVEN REASON
SCRIPTLY NEVER STORES MESSAGES SENT WITH TTS AND NEVER STORES CONVERSATION TEXT THROUGH TRANSCRIPTION
When you visit our website https://scriptly.xyz (domain subject to change) and use our services, you trust us with your personal information. We take your privacy very seriously. In this privacy notice, we seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect and how we use it. If there are any terms in this privacy notice that you do not agree with, please discontinue use of Scriptly.
This privacy notice applies to all information collected through our Discord bot (aka, Scriptly).
The nature of transcribing multiple individuals creates two dimensions of privacy: That you do not use other speakers' audio without their permission, and that Scriptly does not use any audio without permission. Resolving any privacy concerns between yourself and other speakers is your concern; when you initiate a transcription, voice translation, or any product/command that requires Scriptly to listen to users, you are acting on their behalf in allowing Scriptly access to their audio. Although for technological reasons it is of course Scriptly who may be transcribing you and other speakers, the privacy concerns between you and other speakers are identical to those if you were transcribing them yourself, as it is you who is granted access to the transcription.
While Scriptly makes a concerted effort to keep all data secure, no one can perfectly guarantee the security of any Internet-accessible system. Scriptly cannot be held liable for access to your private information through illegal intrusion, even if it can be construed as a consequence of its negligence.
Settings Data: Scriptly stores settings data related to Text-to-Speech (TTS) and Speech-to-Text (STT or transcription) configurations. This includes user-specific settings (e.g., TTS voice preferences linked to user Discord IDs) and guild-specific settings (e.g., TTS channel IDs or STT mode, linked to guild IDs). Settings data is stored indefinitely.
Transcription Session Data: During active transcription sessions, Scriptly temporarily stores session-related data such as guild ID, transcription session ID, voice and text channel IDs, and transcription mode. This data is automatically removed when the bot is disconnected from the voice channel. We do not store any audio data or the outputted transcription (speech-to-text) data.
Premium Subscription Data: If a user subscribes to Scriptly Server Premium, we store the user's Discord ID linked to the guild ID where the premium is activated. We may also store that a user has subscribed to a premium package, and link this data to the user's Discord ID. This information is used to manage premium perks and is stored only for the duration of the subscription.
The settings data is accessed only when troubleshooting user issues or verifying premium status. No personally identifiable information (PII) is exposed during this process; we only see user IDs or guild IDs and the associated settings.
For transcription purposes, we may send STT audio data to third-party systems. These third-party systems receive anonymized STT audio data without any user-specific information. They do not have access to the identities of the users speaking or the associated community guild. Similarly, for TTS (text-to-speech) purposes, we may send TTS text data to third-party systems. These third-party systems receive anonymized TTS text data without any user-specific information. They do not have access to the identities of the users sending the text or the associated community guild.
Settings data is stored indefinitely. Transcription session data is deleted when the session ends. Premium subscription data is retained only while the subscription is active.
Users can request the deletion of their data by contacting us through our support server. We will promptly comply with deletion requests.
We will notify users of any updates to our privacy policy through announcements in our support server.
